Kornélia Nemcová is a Slovak composer, conductor and music producer, based in London. Her work spans across multiple genres and media, but is primarily focused on acoustic and electro-acoustic music for classical instruments. Her music was written for various ensembles, including the contemporary trio Terra Invisus, vocal group The Ruffians and TL String Ensemble.

She has been recently awarded The Trinity Laban Innovation Award 2024 for her project ‘A Woman’s War’, created in collaboration with visual artist Natália Štojková. This cross-disciplinary work is centred around first-hand interviews with Ukrainian women who fled the country after the Russian invasion in February, 2022.
Premiering in Blackheath Halls, London, in June 2024, the digital version of this eye-opening piece, is scheduled to be displayed in Outernet from 23rd to 25th of October, and as part of the London Breeze Film Festival at the end of October.
Kornélia also has an upcoming premiere of her new orchestral work , commissioned by the TL Symphonic Orchestra.

Besides composing, Kornélia enjoys directing ensembles of various sizes, dedicated to promoting new music. She has been the musical director and conductor of the Apollo Consort Society of Contemporary Music. In 2023, they recorded an album of new music in the famous Studio 1 of the University of Surrey, yet to be released.

Kornélia graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in July 2024, holding a Bmus (Hons) degree in Composition, First Class. She studied with Stephen Montague, Deirdre Gribbin and Edward Jessen.
